Charl Kenneth Langeveldt took the first 5 wicket hall of the World Cup which would have given his team an easy victory if it wasn't for Malinga's remarkable 4 wickets in 4 balls which nearly turned the match on its head. Malinga's otherwise expensive bowling got him the joint official man of the match award, but he just missed out on the top 5 here. De Villiers' catch meant he reclaimed top fielder position, whilst Smith and Kallis both moved into the top 3 batsmen so far scoring 59 and 86 in the match respectively.
