A brilliant 158 from Matthew Lawrence Hayden opened the Hyper 8 stage in style. Hayden took over as top batsman of the tournament, and moved into the top 3 points scorers overall with his teammates McGrath and Hogg. Amusingly Hussey took over as the worst batsman of the tournament as he took his run tally to 20 in 4 completed innings. For West Indies Ramdin took over the fielding standings with his 2 catches.
