Sajid Iqbal Mahmood bagged a 4 wicket haul which should have set up England for a win, but their batsmen seemed reluctant to put the effort in as England fell 3 runs short of their target. Bopara got the official man of the match award for his failed attempt to get England back on track, but didn't make the top 5 which for the first time was headed by 3 players from the losing team. Michael Vaughan made his move into the bottom 5 batsmen of the world cup with a duck in this match.
